Dario Essugo has opened up and admitted he wants to win as much as possible after completing his move to CHELSEA after making the switch from Sporting Lisbon earlier this month.
The Portuguese midfielder’s signing was sealed at the beginning of this month and he arrived for his first day as a Blue on the same day as fellow new signing Mamadou Sarr, with this summer’s early transfer window allowing both players to be registered in time to compete at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
And after completing his move to Stamford Bridge, Essugo has opened up and revealed that he is hoping to win as many trophies as he possibly can with the Premier League giants.
‘My experiences on loan were really important and something I needed,’ explained Dario on the club website. ‘My first stint on loan was to Chaves and, at that time, I needed minutes and game time. That gave me the confidence I needed back at Sporting. My four months there were a great experience.
‘My experience in Spain at Las Palmas was also great. I managed to play a prominent role there and got a lot of visibility. It was something I always had, but not at the level that I reached at Las Palmas.’
‘The first memories I have were from when [Jose] Mourinho was here in 2015,’ explained Essugo. ‘But the most recent memory is the Champions League final the club won, which fittingly took place in Porto. I remember that well, and generally some of the great players that have played here.
‘I want to win as much as possible, as many titles as possible. Obviously, I want to win the Champions League, but also the Premier League because it’s very difficult.
‘I want to win titles, play as much as possible at CHELSEA and be part of the club’s history.’
