Thomas Partey’s contract at Arsenal expires at the end of this month and it’s unclear whether he’ll continue at the Emirates.
On April 8th, we covered claims from Spain which stated the midfielder is prioritising a move to Barcelona. A week later, Marca said several factors indicate he’s set to leave Arsenal as a free agent. They also reported the 31-year-old is not short of offers for this summer.
Earlier this month, the north London club confirmed that discussions are ongoing to renew the Ghana international’s contract.
TV3 Ghana’s journalist Michael Oti Adjei sat down for an interview with the Arsenal player and 3Sports have shared a snippet of it on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Michael Oti Adjei tells the former Atlético Madrid man that one his friends is a big Arsenal fan and has asked him to ‘beg’ Partey to stay at the Emirates.
Responding to that, he said: “I’m also an Arsenal fan.”
The journalist then pressed the midfielder what he has to say to those Arsenal fans who want to see him extend his stay.
“I can’t decide anything and it’s up to my agent and the club. Me, I just want to enjoy football,” Partey explained.
There should be clarity on the Ghanian’s immediate future at Arsenal in the coming days.
