Tijjani Reijnders completes €57 million transfer to Manchester City

Tijjani Reijnders has completed his highly-reported move from AC Milan to Manchester City. The initial fee is around €57 million, with add-ons taking the total to €70 million.

The Dutch international signs for five years until the summer of 2030 and is immediately available for Man City at the Club World Cup where he could make his debut on 18 June against Wydad Casablanca.

Reijnders arrives as Pep Guardiola’s fourth summer signing with Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, and Rayan Cherki having also joined.

“I am ecstatic to be signing for Manchester City,” Reijnders said. “City are one of the biggest teams in the world, with the best coach, world-class players and outstanding facilities.

“Under Pep Guardiola, City have won so many titles and I want to help keep that going with a lot more success in the coming years.”

Last season, he scored 15 goals in 54 matches across all competitions for a Milan side that struggled for form. Admirably, he was named Serie A’s midfielder of the season.

Reijnders joins Manchester City as they look to strengthen the centre of the pitch. With Kevin De Bruyne departing the club for a new Italian adventure, Reijnders’ acquisition will no doubt help fill the void as the Citizens look to improve on their third-placed Premier League finish last season.
