COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins has signed a one-year contract with the Denver Broncos, according to multiple reports.
The deal is reportedly worth $2.75 million and could grow toward $5 million with incentives.
Dobbins will join an interesting mix at running back as the Broncos return Audric Estime, Jaleel McLaughlin, Blake Watson and Tyler Badie. They also traded up to take Central Florida’s RJ Harvey in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Dobbins was a second-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 NFL Draft. The start of his career was promising, with Dobbins rushing for 805 yards and nine touchdowns as a rookie.
However, injuries hindered his following three seasons with the franchise.
Last year, Dobbins signed with the Chargers and ran for 905 yards and nine touchdowns.
Dobbins collected 4,459 rushing yards and 38 touchdowns in his time with the Buckeyes (2017-19). In 2019, he ran for a program-record 2,003 yards.
NCAA implements rule changes for college basketball
The NCAA announced Tuesday it is implementing multiple rule changes to men’s college basketball.
Coaches will now be allowed to challenge calls, including out-of-bounds, basket interference/goaltending and whether a secondary defender was in the restricted area. Similar to the NBA, coaches will have to call a timeout to challenge.
If successful, coaches will receive one additional challenge for the game.
A change is also coming to rulings for contact to the groin. Previously, such plays could only be ruled a common foul or a Flagrant 2 foul — which meant an ejection. Now, officials can assess a Flagrant 1 foul.
Rules surrounding continuation have also been changed. When a player who ends his dribble takes contact from a defensive player, he can pivot or complete the step and shoot.
