George Lakin from Always Wolves TV is confident that Rayan Ait-Nouri will perform well for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola. Over five seasons with Wolves, the 24-year-old left-back scored nine goals and made 19 assists, including four goals and seven assists last season alone.
George shared with BBC Radio Manchester’s Total Sport that Ait-Nouri has given Wolves fans plenty to cheer about and has improved each year. He believes Ait-Nouri’s attacking style fits City’s approach, where defenders often play high up the pitch. Last season, Ait-Nouri had more goal contributions than any other Premier League defender, which makes him a natural fit for the way City plays.
He wished Ait-Nouri well and called the Manchester City move the right step for his career, describing him as a top player, even world-class. George said City got a real bargain at £31 million.
When asked about any weaknesses, George pointed out that Ait-Nouri’s defending can be a concern, but doesn’t see it as a big issue at City. With Josko Gvardiol supporting him, Ait-Nouri will have the freedom to push forward. He is comfortable on the ball, quick with short passes, and can break down defensive teams. While he may leave space behind him, George doesn’t think this will cause problems at his new club.
