Wolves are looking to reinforce ahead of the 2025/26 season – and Vitor Pereira appears to have eyes on a new central midfielder.
There has been an exodus to start the summer so far at Molineux, with two players being sold, a few leaving as free agents and Matt Hobbs also departing Wolves.
Fans now want to see some incomings, although currently the transfer window has briefly closed.
But it will reopen on June 16, and speculation will not die down while the window is shut.
And the work won’t stop for Wolves, who are operating slightly differently now following a restructure of their recruitment division.
Wolves are looking at several markets right now, including players currently in the Premier League.
And apparently, Wolves have been tracking Brentford midfielder Yehor Yarmoliuk – but something happened recently which may make a move difficult.

It has been claimed by Caught Offside that Wolves are one of several clubs to have been tracking Yegor Yarmoliuk in recent times.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
The Ukraine international midfielder has been with Brentford since 2022, after signing from Dnipro-1.
Caught Offside suggest Brentford don’t particularly want to sell, and have set an asking price of £25 million for the 21-year-old.
Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United are among the other clubs keen on the player.
Wolves are said to have been ‘closely tracking’ the star, but no formal approach has been made.
But one big issue for Wolves and the other clubs is that Yarmoliuk actually only signed a new deal with Brentford last month, meaning he now has a contract at the Gtech Community Stadium until the summer of 2031, with the Bees having an option to extend by a further 12 months.
Wolves are certainly keen for a new midfielder though, and will surely look at alternatives.
Yehor Yarmoliuk’s numbers in 2024/25 and what Thomas Frank has said
Brentford gave Yarmoliuk that new contract as a reward for a breakthrough season in 2024/25.
He made 35 appearances in total, and gained more prominence in the second half of the season.
In the Premier League, Yarmoliuk had an impressive pass accuracy metric of 88%, played 54 successful long balls, made 31 clearances and made 13 interceptions (via Brentford’s official website).
What has been clear about Yarmoliuk is that he is an industrious midfielder, the kind we know Vitor Pereira likes.

Tommy Doyle is set to leave Wolves this summer and in theory, Yarmoliuk would be a good replacement for the Englishman given his great passing range and ability to spray long balls from deep.
Yarmoliuk may have signed a new deal recently, but Thomas Frank is now set to become Tottenham’s new manager, so perhaps this gives Wolves an outside chance of signing the star.
That said, Frank may well do his level best to poach Yarmoliuk for Spurs.
