Belief club can get €2.5m knock-back if Everton sell player

Portuguese club Portimonense believe they are set to receive around €2.5m this summer if Beto were to leave Everton.

That’s according to Record, who report that Portimonense are one of the interested parties keeping a close eye on what happens with the Everton striker this summer.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from Everton in the coming months despite managing to establish himself under David Moyes after his arrival in the second half of the season.

Leeds United are believed to be keen on a deal for him and have been quoted an asking price of €24m early on in the window.

That would be of interest to Portimonense, who would pocket a profit thanks to a 10% sell on clause and training rights.

Beto played for them on a free transfer in 2019 and went on to make 47 appearances in the first team before joining Udinese on a permanent basis in 2022.

Portimonense earned €7m from that deal, keeping 30% of the overall transfer fee. When he then left for Everton, the Portuguese club were then left 10% of his rights.

If that is added to a percentage of his training rights they are also due to receive, it would would see them pocket around €2.5m from any €24m deal. Overall, it would mean they’ve made around €15m from selling him.

That all depends on him leaving Everton, though, who it seems are yet to decide whether to stick or twist with the striker.
