Premier League summer series takes centre stage

AFC Bournemouth, Manchester United, Everton and West Ham United will contest the Premier League summer series in the United States of America this summer.

Games will be played across New Jersey, Chicago, and Atlanta as football tries to capitalise on the North American market, which will also host the FIFA Club World Cup over the next few weeks, before hosting the FIFA World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico in 2026.

In preparation for the trip, the Cherries will play two behind-closed-doors friendlies in July against Scottish Premiership side Hibernian (co-owned by AFC Bournemouth owner Bill Foley) and Championship outfit Bristol City.

The games in the USA will be played on 26th July, 30th July and 3rd August.

When AFC Bournemouth return to England they will host Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad in two games. The first, again to be played behind closed doors, will be against their “B side”, whilst the second will be the Cherries only pre-season fixture that supporters can attend at home.

The game will kick off at 5.15 pm on Saturday, 9th August at Dean Court with ticket news yet to be announced.

Only one friendly at home before the season starts.

Not much scope for those without points to get to see the team.

Damn. I was really hoping for a couple of home friendlies.

Want to take my daughter for the first time and get us some points on the board.

One home friendly before the season starts is pretty poor. I agree with all of those above.

We can only hope that the time will be well used in making stadium improvements before the new season starts, now that everyone is being relocated to Canford Magna. To join the conversation, please click here.
