Brighton and Hove Albion defender Pervis Estupiñán has confirmed he’s spoken to the club’s board and been given permission for transfer talks this summer.
[Studio Futbol cover comments](https://studiofutbol.com.ec/2025/06/10/pervis-estupinan-se-va-del-brighton-quiero-seguir-creciendo-veremos-que-hay-sobre-la-mesa/) from the full-back today, made after Ecuador secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup with a 0-0 draw against Peru.
With that now secured, it appears that the Brighton defender’s focus is on the transfer window.
The 27-year-old has been with Brighton since 2022, when he joined in a €17.8m deal from Villarreal. He had previously been in England with Watford after moving from Udinese but left in 2020 after a series of loans away from Vicarage Road.
It has gone better for him with Brighton, where he’s established himself as first choice after Marc Cucurella’s departure, with 104 appearances so far and 14 assists and five goals in them.
He’s been linked with a move away this summer, with some reports in England suggesting that Manchester United are keen as they plan a summer rebuild and target players better suited to Ruben Amorim’s system. Estupiñán would certainly fall into that bracket.
And he’s now confirmed he’s looking at his options, having already spoken to Brighton’s leadership about a departure.
_“It’s been three years at Brighton, a time of great learning, but it will be a busy transfer window. The club knows I’d like to continue growing,”_ he is quoted as saying.
_“I’ve spoken with them, and they’ve given me the freedom to make a decision and see what’s best on the table, and where we should go.”_
