[West Ham Utd 2-1 Everton](news_archive.php)
--------------------------------------------
West Ham came from behind to secure a first win of the Summer Series against Everton at Soldier Field Stadium.
Having been narrowly beaten in their opening fixture of the tournament by Manchester Utd in the early hours of Sunday morning, it was imperative that West Ham took something form their second test of the mini-series. And Graham Potter's side did just about enough to secure a first victory, even though they went about it the hard way as Everton, managed by former Hammers boss Davis Moyes took an early lead through Idrissa Gueye's 17th-minute goal. However a mistake from Toffees goalkeeper Mark Travers four minutes ahead of the half time interval allowed Lucas Paquetá to register for West Ham, sending the teams into the break on level terms. And the Hammers, who were captained on the night by midfielder James Ward-Prowse secured a morale-boosting win on 64 minutes when substitute Niclas Füllkrug fired a fantastic low shot into the bottom right-hand corner.
