The Alexander Isak saga rumbles on in what has been a painful summer for Newcastle United fans.

After weeks of Liverpool showing interest without actually bidding and the player signalling last week that he’d like to leave, the Reds finally launched a bid earlier today.

That offer, according to [BBC Sport](https://x.com/BBCSport/status/1951314946345570440), was £110m, while other reports suggest it may have been slightly more including potential add-ons.

Whatever the ‘official’ bid was, one thing everyone has agreed on is that it was immediately rejected by Newcastle United.

Some in the media suggested that Liverpool were working on a second bid on Friday afternoon, but there has been a big twist, with BBC Sport, the i’s Mark Douglas, The Mail’s Craig Hope and Ben Jacobs reporting that Liverpool have pulled out of talks.

All indicate that, according to Liverpool and sources on Merseyside, they won’t be sending another offer in to Newcastle after an initial bid of £110m fell well short of Newcastle’s £150m valuation.

So, they’ve made an approach weeks ago, unsettled the player and now made a bit WAY short of our demands, only to give up? I’m not so sure.

The mess continues.
