With just two weeks remaining till the Everton game, Leeds United still have some serious work to do. Daniel Farke and his recruitment team have done a great job adding to the squad.
But there are still some glaring holes the team need to address. Now that the league opener is just days away, there might be some panic in and around the club. Especially as there are some positions that lack quality and depth. Despite bolstering the defence, midfield, and adding a new keeper, there are still some gaps in the squad.

Breren Cross thinks that Leeds need to add a few players in these positions:
“…you’ve got striker, full-back, and then you’re looking at a 10, and a winger.
“So, I think we are looking ideally there’s going to be four new signings and you’re hoping that three of them are going to be good starters.
“You would hope. Of course, any further incomings will be dependent on anybody else that goes that at the moment we don’t know about.”
The Whites are already in the market for alternatives after Igor Paixao chose a move to Marseille this week.

Chelsea transfer could halt Leeds United move
According to Florian Plettenburg, Chelsea are still working on a move for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons. A verbal agreement has now been reached between the parties.
The London club have pursued the Dutch international strongly in the past few weeks. No deal has been agreed yet, but talks are ongoing. Chelsea will submit an official offer soon, as the club needs to make space by offloading a few names.
If Simons does leave this summer, Liepzig are keen on replacing him with Leeds United target Bilal El Khannouss.

As it stands, no offer has been made. But Leeds have held talks with Leicester City to figure out the details of a potential transfer. El Khannouss has a relegation release clause worth £24.5million, however, the decision to accept the offer lies with the player.
The clause expires in two weeks, and the Foxes are expected to play hardball with interested clubs. Leicester will demand ”north of £25million” to part ways with the 21-year old.
Club must avoid another Igor Paixao scenario
Leeds have to learn from the Igor Paixao saga. The club showed interest in the player, presented their proposal and decided to watch Marseille make the first official bid. Many believe this is the reason the Brazilian eventually joined the Ligue 1 side.
Leeds need an attacking signing, and El Khannouss is available – moving quickly to sign him will seriously work to their advantage. Hopefully this is one major transfer that will end well.
