Report: Man Utd now eyeing move to sign £212,000-a-week striker as transfer stalls

Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation of Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani after his move to Juventus stalled, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna.

The Reds have already added both Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to their squad to strengthen the attack, while young left-back Diego Leon has also arrived after a deal was agreed earlier in the year.

But the club are still keen to add a striker to the squad and they are paying attention to a move for France international Kolo Muani after it emerged he may not get to move to his first-choice option.

Juventus move stalling over finances

Kolo Muani, who currently earns £212,000-a-week at Paris Saint-Germain, has absolutely no future with the French champions and spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan with Serie A outfit Juventus.

The player is keen on a return to Turin and the club are trying to make a deal happen, but so far they have been unable to shift their dead weight for manager Igor Tudor, which has seen them handicapped financially.

PSG are looking at a permanent deal or a loan with an obligation to buy instead of just a straight loan this time around, and as things stand Juventus and the Ligue 1 side are 'very far' from an agreement, which has opened the door for other clubs such as Man Utd to potentially swoop.

United have recently made Benjamin Sesko their top striker target and have held talks with the player and RB Leipzig over getting a deal done, with the 22-year-old valued at £64m plus add-ons by the Bundesliga side.

But should they fail to get a deal done for the Slovenian then it's possible Old Trafford chiefs could pivot to getting a deal done for Kolo Muani by taking advantage of the fact Juventus's move has currently stalled.
