Leeds United handed huge transfer boost after latest development at Champions League club

Leeds United have been scrambling to find an alternative target after losing out on Igor Paixao. The Brazilian joined Marseille after a long drawn out saga.

The Whites pulled out all the stops to sign the winger; they presented a good project to his representatives and were willing to fulfil financial obligations. Unfortunately, the player decided on a move to France.

Leeds now have just weeks till the Premier League kicks off to find another attacking option. So far, the name that has come up in reports is Leicester star Bilal El Khannouss. There have been talks between both clubs over a move, as the 21-year old has a relegation release clause. El Khannouss will be highly sought after this summer, with the likes of Crystal Palace and RB Leipzig showing interest.

The club is also expecting some departures in the coming weeks, as unwanted players look for a way out of the team. Joe Gelhardt, who is currently with the U21 team, is in talks with Rangers over a move.

The latest information from London is that Manor Solomon could be out of Tottenham’s plans this summer. The winger is yet to feature in a pre-season games for Spurs. Graeme Bailey has now revealed that Solomon could now be available for a lower price than initially reported:

“They (Spurs) were willing to let him fight for his place, but I think it’s going to soon become apparent to Solomon that he’s not really a part of Tottenham’s plans. He would cost probably a bit less than £20 million,” Bailey said to Leeds United News.

Leicester City firm on El Khannouss asking price

Despite having a relegation release clause, the Foxes are not keen on selling Bilal El Khannouss at that price. According to reports, a bid can only be accepted by the player. Leicester are expected to play hard ball with clubs, as the clause expires in the next 14 days.

Reports indicate that a bid above £25million will be enough to sign the attacking midfielder this summer.

Solomon would be an ideal signing for Leeds

After missing out on Igor Paixao, the prospect of Manor Solomon looks more appealing. The winger is used to the club and coach, and has excelled in the system. Solomon also has experience at the Premier League level. His performances last season are very hard to ignore – 10 goals and 12 assists in the league.

If Leeds can manage to bring him back next season, it would be a huge boost to the club.
