Everton are being pushed by their manager to bring some new faces in sooner rather than later.
Adam Aznou has now trained with his Everton teammates after making the move from Bayern Munich earlier in the week.
David Moyes will be aware that any signings have now missed the deadline to join up with the squad for the game on Sunday against Manchester United.
Everton will return to Finch Farm next week to prepare for their season opener against Leeds United in August.
With Aznou now on board, Moyes is pushing for attacking signings at Everton, with Thierno Barry and Beto requiring better service.
Goals have been a major issue for a while on Merseyside, and one club director may have now opened the door for Everton to really make their move.

Everton hold a strong interest in Malick Fofana, but there are some issues being struck in their pursuit of the winger.
It is believed Fofana is holding out for a potential move to a Champions League club.

Speaking to Le Progres, Lyon technical director Matthieu Louis-Jean has admitted offers for Fofana will be reviewed.
“We’ve committed to a certain number of sales. It’s not certain that it will be Malick (Fofana),” he said.
“The problem with Malick is that he’s an excellent player, so it’s clear that we’ll be attacked now, tomorrow, in six months, in a year. After that, we’ll decide based on the offers that come in.
“Now, here we are, we have a sales agreement signed with the DNCG. The names of the players are not important to me. What’s important is to have the most competitive team possible for the start of the season.”
Everton have eyed Fofana alternatives as they understand the player is keen to join a Champions League outfit.
But, this may be one to keep an eye on as a late opportunity may arise deep in the window,
Everton also hold an interest in Tyler Dibling
In recent hours, Everton have made an opening bid for Tyler Dibling from Southampton, but there is also strong interest in him.
The youngster is a winger who would also arrive in a big-money deal from the Saints.
What will be interesting to see is whether signing Dibling would then rule out a potential move for Fofana given the finances involved.

It is believed Everton were handed a £100m transfer budget, and a significant chunk of that has already been spent.
If Fofana remains a target, perhaps the Friedkins will have to put their hand in their pockets again.
