Manchester United still hope to sign three more players in the final month of the summer transfer window. Ruben Amorim has reinforced his first-team squad with three new additions already this summer and would ideally like to double that tally before deadline day on Monday 1 September.
United are focused on adding a striker in the coming weeks as Amorim looks to overhaul an attack that managed just 44 goals in the Premier League last season. They have already done so with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but the preference is to add a reliable goalscorer to the forward line as well.
In an ideal world, United will also sign a back-up goalkeeper to replace Altay Bayindir, and there is also a desire to sign a defensive midfielder. It might seem an unlikely target, but these are the squad numbers any recruits could take if they are signed in the next month.
United are open to selling Bayindir this summer and his exit would vacate the No.1 shirt.
