Archie Gray was the last high potential first team star from the Leeds United academy. His breakout season shocked the world in 2024.
But like most star talents, his time at Elland Road was short lived. After his crazy debut season, he was snapped up by Premier League giants Spurs last summer. Part of Leeds letting him go was down to PSR, and the transfer fee was too good to reject.

Leeds have always had a promising academy with very good youth talents. The homegrown players were great, and some players brought in from other clubs have panned out so well. Victor Orta’s policy of buying high potential players during his time at the club paid off in a big way. Crysencio Summerville was sold for a huge fee, while Pascal Struijk is now the club captain.
Mateo Joseph has also successfully broken into the first team. But this summer could be his last in West Yorkshire if reports are to be believed.

This summer, Spurs have once again been able to poach a very big talent from Leeds United. The London club signed Oliver Boast for a fee in this summer window.
Lilywhite Rose owner, and youth expert, John Wenham believes that the Whites have lost a potential England star.
“This is a massive signing,” Wenham said.
“Boast played against Tottenham at an Under-16 tournament last season called the Nationals.
“All the parents I spoke to on the back of that said to me that Leeds have got this striker called Boast who’s a really top player, like, really good. He’s got the right sort of arrogance about him as well, that he’s going to make it, and he’s pushing himself really hard.
“So, I think it’s massive for Tottenham to get the England youth international striker through the door.”
Boast spent eight years at the club, and last season, the 16-year old scored nine goals in 18 games in the U18 Premier League last season for the club.
Leeds U21 have made some great additions this summer
There have been some changes to the U21s side. The club have brought in former Manchester City star Jayden Lienou and former Liverpool star Louis Enahoro-Marcus. Former Whites star Jonny Howson will also come on board as player-coach to help with player development this season.
The club need to protect Harry Gray
After losing Archie Gray, and now Oliver Boast, Leeds need to do everything possible to keep Harry Gray. He is currently the biggest name at youth level in the team and the one with the brightest future. Losing him would be a huge blow to the fans.
