Alejandro Garnacho Pushes for Chelsea Move as United Insist on£40m

Reports say that Alejandro Garnacho wants to move to Chelsea, which would keep him in the Premier League and bring him back to Champions League football. The Manchester United winger is not going on the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, which shows that manager Ruben Amorim does not see him as an important part of his plans.

But the transfer is still up in the air because there is a gap in the valuation, even though Garnacho wants it and Chelsea are very interested. On the The London Is Blue Podcast, journalist Matt Law said:

“I’m told Garnacho wants Chelsea, wants to stay in the Premier League, and ideally play in the Champions League … He’s set his heart on Chelsea if possible!”

Chelsea think the Argentine winger is worth about £30 million, but Manchester United are sticking to its £40 million asking price. The West London club has already signed some big names this summer, like Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, and Jorrel Hato. However, adding Garnacho is seen as a smart move to improve their options on the wing.

Attempts to lower the cost by trading players have also failed. United said they wouldn’t include Nicolas Jackson in any trade, which shows they weren’t interested in the Blues striker as part of the talks.

Chelsea Have Shown Interest in Garnacho and Could Make an Offer

Even though there is a stalemate, Chelsea have reportedly done thorough background checks on Garnacho. Sources say there are “no concerns” about his character or professionalism, which is an important factor in their decision-making.

The Blues are now expected to make an official offer before the transfer window closes in August. But they will probably have to sell players like Jackson, Broja, or Nkunku to make room on the wage bill and in the squad.

Garnacho has turned down offers from Aston Villa, Bayer Leverkusen, and even Saudi clubs. It’s clear that he wants to play at Stamford Bridge. The only thing left to do is wait and see if either side will give in and close the gap before time runs out.
