Reports are emerging from the continent that Newcastle United have landed their man.
Slovenian media are claiming Benjamin Sesko has chosen Newcastle United as his next career move.
Toon chiefs are understood to have presented a blueprint to the striker’s camp last week. However, noises in recent days suggested Manchester United had moved ahead in the race.
That sentiment was felt within St James’ Park and Newcastle were already drafting alternatives. The push for a No.9 has been exasperated by the ongoing Alexander Isak saga.

Liverpool bid rejected for Alexander Isak
Liverpool saw an initial bid worth around £110million turned down by the Magpies on Friday. As it stands, Isak remains de facto on strike having not travelled to Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia.
The Swede is currently training at former club Real Sociedad after making his intention to leave clear. PIF - United’s majority shareholders - want to keep Isak at St James’ Park.
Newcastle targeted a striker before the window opened, with an early approach for Joao Pedro falling through. A domino effect could ensue if the Magpies land Sesko from Leipzig.
Slovenian media drops bombshell
Slovenian outlet Delo claim Newcastle have convinced Sesko to join the Tyneside project. Leipzig are understood to be willing sellers after missing out on European football.
A hefty £65million fee is mooted - a figure that would shatter the Magpies’ record transfer. Ironically, the current holder is Alexander Isak, who joined for £63million from Real Socedad three years ago.
Media in Sesko’s native country is now adamant Newcastle have landed their man. Fans are already beginning to get carried away on social media despite no major sources confirming its legitimacy.
