Everton could potentially make a massive statement by hijacking a deal for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The Toffees have expressed their interest in Luiz, with the ex-Aston Villa star out of Igor Tudor’s plans in the Allianz Stadium.
David Moyes could have Luiz at his disposal before the end of August, as the Blues work on a deal with the Serie A outfit.
However, The Friedkin Group may have to use their links in Italy and invest significantly to secure the Brazilian ace’s signature.

The Italian news outlet reports (1 August) that the Juventus midfielder is guaranteed a deal until 2030 worth £3.4million plus bonuses annually at the City Ground.
It’s been claimed that while the Blues made an offer to sign Luiz on loan with an option to buy, they didn’t go beyond that.

A move to Nuno Espirito Santo’s team is gaining traction, and the Friedkins need to use their financial muscle to hijack Forest’s move for Luiz.
While Forest will play in Europe next season, the Merseyside outfit should use the prospect of their brand new stadium to entice Luiz.
Moyes did brilliantly at Goodison Park last season, and the project in L5 seems encouraging, with fans hoping for further progress in the coming months.

Everton need to sign Luiz this summer
TFG have been given a clear indication by Moyes in recent weeks that more signings are needed at the Toffees.
Everton should have built a competitive squad for next season by now, but instead, the Scottish manager has been forced to take several academy players to make up numbers for the Premier League Summer Series.
Luiz knows the English top flight well and helped Villa achieve a fourth-place finish and UEFA Champions League qualification before being sold to Juventus.
With Idrissa Gueye not getting any younger, Tim Iroegbunam being linked with Sheffield United and Harrison Armstrong’s inexperience, Luiz should be someone the Blues pursue.
