Journalist shares latest transfer update on Bayern star linked with Chelsea move

Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae is reportedly not looking to leave the club this summer, unless his situation dramatically changes.

Min-jae has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool this summer, while French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly keen.

Bayern have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea defender Renato Veiga, and there were suggestions that the Portuguese could move to Germany if Min-jae leaves.

Reports in Italy also suggested that Chelsea could be interested in a potential swap deal for Kim Min-jae, with Veiga moving the other way.

After signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool, Max Eberl is focused on removing some of the players from the squad who are not in Vincent Kompany’s immediate plans.

Bryan Zaragoza and Adam Aznou have left the club, while Joao Palhinha is reportedly close to joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Min-jae joined Bayern in the summer of 2023 from Napoli and has made 79 appearances for the German champions.

In 2024-25, he made 27 starts in the Bundesliga, scoring two goals. However, his performances have been widely criticised, and there were fears that he could be offloaded.

Min-jae recovered from injury to take part in the Club World Cup, but he was benched throughout the tournament.

The 28-year-old didn’t get a single minute to prove his worth, and he is likely to drop down the pecking order following the arrival of Jonathan Tah.

Kim Min-jae looking to continue at Bayern

As of now, there have been no offers from Chelsea or from any Premier League club for Min-jae.

Recently, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna claimed that Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr are interested in signing the South Korean defender, and talks have been held.

He added that Min-jae is keen on the move, but no agreement has been reached.

Florian Plettenberg has come up with an update, where the Sky Germany journalist claimed that the link with Al-Nassr is not true.

He wrote: “Sources close to Min-jaeKim told Sky: “We are currently not in talks with Al-Nassr. These reports are not true. Min-jae is fully focused on FC Bayern and will stay, unless something extraordinary happens.”
