Brighton’s Julio Enciso spent the second half of last season on loan at Ipswich Town and now finds his future uncertain once again.
The Paraguayan showed glimpses of his ability during his time at the Tractor Boys, scoring two goals and assisting three times in the Premier League.
This can now help him regarding a move to Italy, as Il Messaggero report on interest from AS Roma. New Giallorossi manager Gian Piero Gasperini likes the Brighton player’s profile and sees him as an option to improve the club’s attack.
Roma are hopeful of getting a discount in a move for the 21-year-old, whose contract at the Seagulls runs until the summer of 2026. Brighton currently want €20m to sell Enciso, and despite the contract scenario this is appealing to Roma.
The Italian club are yet to make any contact as they are looking at other options but if they can’t seal a move for Manchester City’s Claudio Echeverri, Enciso can become a concrete option.
Inter Milan have also been linked with the South American over the past month or so.
