On Wednesday, Gazzetta dello Sport spoke of interest from Nottingham Forest and West Ham in Club Brugge’s Ardon Jashari.
They revealed both clubs had made contact for the midfielder but it was seen as an attempt from the Belgian club to push AC Milan to pay their asking price for the Swiss player.
Quotidiano Sportivo report Chelsea have entered the race for the 23-year-old and are now ahead of Bayer Leverkusen. The newspaper states Blues can prove to be a major threat for Milan, who have not expressed any willingness to increase their €35m offer for Jashari.
Club Brugge want €40m for the midfielder and Chelsea are unlikely to have problems in meeting that asking price, with Leverkusen not interested in paying that amount despite the sale of Granit Xhaka to Sunderland.
Once again, the report feels like a way to pressure Milan into paying up for their key target.
There is a realisation at Club Brugge that Premier League clubs will find it easy to meet the big asking price and that is why links with West Ham and Nottingham Forest also emerged.
Jashari remains keen on a move to Milan and despite not being injured, he will not feature for the club in their league game against Mechelen at the weekend.
