Fabrizio Romano names the two Chelsea players‘expected’ to leave after Armando Broja

In the last 24 hours, the transfer news broke that Chelsea will soon complete the sale of Armando Broja to Premier League rivals Burnley.

Armando Broja, who’s a product of the Blues academy, has had a senior career plagued by injuries so far. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old striker struggled with form and fitness again last year during a season-long loan at Everton.

Chelsea have been preparing to sell Broja this summer, and the player wants a permanent move as well.

Journalist Fabrice Hawkins broke the news via X on Friday night that Burnley have agreed a deal to sign Blues centre-forward Broja.

Afterwards, journalist Fabrizio Romano added via X that Burnley will give Broja a long-term contract when signing him on a permanent basis. He will complete a medical imminently, too.

Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling will follow Armando Broja out of Chelsea

Romano explained via X that Chelsea won’t stop with their busy summer of selling players. Apparently, Christopher Nkunku, 27, and Raheem Sterling, 30, are “expected” to be the next individuals to leave after Broja departs.

Chelsea hope to sell Sterling for around £20m three years after they signed him from Manchester City for £47.5m. Meanwhile, Chelsea want around £35m from Nkunku’s sale as he receives plenty of transfer links.

The focus from rival supporters on the Blues is usually around all the incomings, but the club deserves credit for how efficiently they offload players.

Will Burnley be a good fit for Armando Broja?

Even though Everton had a £30m option to buy Broja, it is no great surprise that they opted against signing him permanently.

Burnley are definitely taking quite a risk with Broja. As they prepare for the new season back in the Premier League, they need a proven centre-forward to lead the line for them to try and keep them in the top division.

While we believe that Broja has huge potential, the reality is his progress has stalled massively because of too many injuries. We fear that he may have lost a yard of his explosive pace, too.

Now that Broja is finally about to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis, it would be great if he can find a settled home and get back to his best.
