The race to sign Benjamin Sesko currently involves Manchester United and Newcastle.
It’s been a long summer for Newcastle as they’ve missed out on several key transfer targets.
The Magpies signed former Manchester United academy graduate Anthony Elanga, but they also lost out on two other attacking players, who signed for the Red Devils instead.
Matheus Cunha joined United from Wolves despite interest from Newcastle, and the same can be said for Bryan Mbeumo following his switch from Brentford.
Now, United and Newcastle are targeting the same striker to bolster their attack ahead of the new season.
RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is attracting lots of attention after scoring 21 goals across all competitions last term.
It is understood that United have been tracking Sesko for up to six years.

This update comes after both clubs were strongly linked in recent days, with United becoming favourites to sign the Slovenian goalscorer.

If true, Newcastle have taken a striker right from under United’s nose.
It could lead to United reevaluating their options and moving their focus back to Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
Only time will tell who United end up signing as their new striker this summer.
