For a time, Dallas sports fans could proudly boast about having NBA star Luka Doncic and NFL standout Micah Parsons representing their city. But that’s no longer the case. Earlier this year, the Dallas Mavericks shocked the league by trading Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis in a three-team deal—one of the most controversial moves in recent NBA history.
Now, it appears another beloved Dallas star could be on his way out after Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons requested a trade on Friday, sending shockwaves through the fanbase just months after Doncic’s painful departure from the Mavericks.

Micah Parsons Requests Trade From Cowboys
In what has become one of football’s biggest news this offseason, Parsons took to social media to share a lengthy post, revealing he no longer wishes to stay with the Cowboys.
“Yes I wanted to be here… Unfortunately I no longer want to be here. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally,” Parsons wrote.
Parsons criticized the organization for shutting out his agent during negotiations and called out the team for allowing narratives about his availability to spread unchecked. He also thanked the fans for their support throughout the years.

A four-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro, Parsons is entering the final year of his rookie deal. With expectations of a massive contract—potentially over $40 million per year—tensions have been building between the player and front office for months.
Dallas Fans Compare Parsons’ Trade Request to Luka Doncic Exit
The backlash was immediate following Parsons’ post as Dallas fans began drawing comparisons to the Doncic saga, pointing to what they see as a disturbing pattern from Dallas sports franchises.
“Losing Micah and Luka in the span of months would be beyond devastating … egomaniac decision makers,” one fan wrote.
“Like they don’t really want to win,” another fan added.
“Sad times for Dallas sports thanks to the worst two ownerships in Dallas sports history,” a third fan posted.
“These players deserve so much better … [expletive] Nico AND Jerry,” another fan said
“First #77 now #11 smh,” another fan remarked.
