One notable exclusion from West Ham’s training camp in Germany, and more recently for their US pre-season tour is Italian international [Emerson Palmieri.](https://www.claretandhugh.info/diouf-signs-in-as-emerson-plots-exit-changing-of-the-guard-at-left-wing-back/) He’s been allegedly asked to find a new club this summer, following the arrival of two new full-backs—El Hadji Malick Diouf and Kyle Walker-Peters—which has pushed Emerson down the pecking order.
Emerson is reportedly dealing with a minor back injury, and his absence from the tour suggests the club is preparing for his departure.
With his contract set to expire next June, though the Hammers hold an option for a further year, the player is believed to be on a salary of £97k a week making him one of the top earners at the club.
One club reportedly interested in the full-back, is Lazio, whose manager Maurizio Sarri worked with Emerson at Chelsea.
Despite this, Emerson posted a message on social media from the training ground with the word “Resilience,” hinting, perhaps, he’s not ready to give up without a fight.

West Ham are unlikely to agree to a loan move, for Emerson, and his high wages, despite any modest transfer fee, significantly narrow the range of potential suitors.
With the window set to close on September 1st – there is still plenty of time for a deal to be concluded.
