Man Utd keen on Swedish wonderkid, Ineos consider clever move to make deal possible

Manchester United are always working hard to bring the latest wonderkids to the youth ranks at Carrington.

There has been a noticeable shift in Manchester United’s transfer policy since Ineos took control of football operations.

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became co-owner, United’s focus in the market has shifted towards younger players. The club is planning for a bright future in a new stadium and they’ve been laying the foundations for success with signings like Ayden Heaven, Leny Yoro and Chido Obi.

There is still a lot of work to be done for these players to reach the top of their game.

Ineos are hoping to add more talented prospects this summer having already signed Harley Emsden-James and showing serious interest in other targets.

But another target on Ineos’ radar is playing his football in Sweden.

Manchester United and Tottenham target Kevin Filling

United are monitoring Europe closely to ensure they are tracking the best young players in the game.

That was how they ended up signing Obi and Sekou Kone last summer. Now, both players have high hopes of reaching United’s first team as regulars, but that will take a lot of hard work.

United and Tottenham have been credited with interest in AIK starlet Kevin Filling, who recently had a dream debut at senior level, scoring against IFK Goteborg. Swedish outlet Expressen claims United made concrete inquiries about the young striker.

Since then, the 16-year-old has been sidelined with an injury, but that won’t stop clubs like United and Tottenham from expressing an interest in the player.

Brexit means English clubs cannot sign foreign players before they turn 18, but United have ways around that obstacle to ensure that young players across the continent can continue their development after joining the club.

Ineos have a plan for Filling

Brexit won’t stop United from expressing an interest in players under the age of 18 who play across the continent.

The Swedish report states that United wanted to sign Filling and then loan him to their sister club Lausanne in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, Tottenham is said to have proposed a deal where Filling signs and is then loaned back to AIK.

The report stresses that AIK are not interested in selling Filling at the moment. He recently signed a three-year deal at the club.
