The transfer noise is growing louder regarding RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and his possible move to Chelsea.
The Blues have been heavily linked with RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons, 22, during this summer transfer window. It sounds like the potential deal is finally edging closer, too.
Chelsea have been confident of signing £60m-rated Simons for quite a while now, but supporters have been patiently waiting for developments to speed up.
On Friday, Simons removed Leipzig’s name from his Instagram bio, so the excitement is building around the attacking midfielder’s potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Xavi Simons absent from RB Leipzig training as Chelsea negotiations advance
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano via X, Simons was absent from training with the rest of the Leipzig squad on Friday. The Bundesliga club face Atalanta on Saturday in a pre-season friendly, and the Netherlands international is expected to be left out of the squad for that.
Romano adds that Chelsea and Leipzig are now at “advanced stages” of the Simons transfer as the negotiations progress in a positive way.

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has held ‘positive’ discussions with Simons this week to help convince the player to push for a move to West London.
The Dutch playmaker, who can shine on the wing or as a No.10, may become the latest talent to join the young Blues squad. On paper, he will add even more creativity and firepower to the Chelsea ranks, plus he’s experienced at the highest level.
