Manchester United are pulling out all the stops to bring the Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko to Old Trafford this summer.
United Push Hard to Sign Slovenian striker
Manchester United have made their intentions clear by stepping up their chase for RB Leipzig’s star Benjamin Sesko.
Meanwhile. Aston Villa are refusing to entertain talks over Ollie Watkins. So, Utd have now locked in on the Slovenian striker as their top attacking target. The club’s recruitment team, led by Christopher Vivell and Matt Hargreaves, traveled to Germany in hopes of sealing the deal.
Vivell had ties with the Red Bull group in the past, where Sesko started to make his name. That could provide a slight advantage in transfer discussions with the Red Devils. The forward has physical presence and goalscoring instincts. He has scored 39 goals in the Bundesliga across the two campaigns. He is one of the top young forwards in Europe at the moment.
Although, RB Leipzig are standing firm on their £70m valuation. However, Man Utd are hopeful of bringing the price down.
Old Trafford Pulls Ahead in Transfer Tug-of-War
Though Newcastle United have UCL position, but Sesko is said to prefer Man United. This preference gives the Red Devils a real edge in the hunt. This comes even though they will not be playing in Europe next season.
Arsenal, who had interest in Sesko at one point, could not reach a deal and opted for Viktor Gyokeres instead. The Leipzig player offers the kind of threat in the box that United have been missing. Head coach Ruben Amorim sees him as the ideal fit to lead the line in his attacking setup.
While the Bundesliga side won’t hand over their prized forward easily. But, United seem willing to fight for a player who could be key to their revival. With Sesko also favoring a move to Old Trafford, this one could heat up fast in the coming weeks.
