Everton proven right after hearing how much Burnley are paying for Armando Broja - opinion

Armando Broja is set to find his new club as Burnley look like the striker’s next chapter after a loan spell at Everton.

After a dismal spell with the Toffees, Broja is set to stay in the Premier League, but this time with newly-promoted side Burnley.

The Albanian failed to score in the 10 league games he was presented with, but more to the matter was his inability to stay fit for Everton.

His injuries severely impacted his time under Sean Dyche and David Moyes, which sums up his career, and why Everton fans didn’t want Broja permanently.

Well now, the striker is hoping his fortunes change with the Clarets as he is finally leaving Chelsea, but for a price that will shock many Evertonians.

Burnley set to land former Everton striker Armando Broja for £20m

Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, he will probably go down in the flop category when it comes to the Toffees’ signings.

It’s a shame because Broja did look promising for Everton, but ultimately, his torrid spells on the sidelines got in his way.

Hopefully, his new tenure with Burnley gives him more luck, but according to BBC Sport, Scott Parker’s side are set to pay up to £20m for the striker, which seems absurd if you’re a Toffee after his loan spell.

It’s a baffling figure to pay, but there is no denying that if Broja can stay fit, his potential is there.

However, looking at it from an Everton perspective, Moyes has been proven right after their own business.

Everton signing Thierno Barry for £27m makes Armando Broja rejection look like a masterclass

Looking at the situation as a whole, it’s Everton who will surely benefit more.

Moyes chose to reject Broja returning, and the fact that a £20m price tag was on the table proves that the Scotsman made the right decision, not to mention the £30m option to buy already in his contract.

Not only this, but they have signed Thierno Barry for just £7m more, who has proven he is a much better striker than the Albanian.

The Frenchman suits the Merseyside club’s style a lot more as well, with Barry’s aerial ability exciting for Everton, as during Broja’s stint, he didn’t show much of a threat in the air.

Just taking into account the numbers from last season, not only is Barry more reliable, but The Friedkin Group will be shocked that Burnley have paid over the odds for the Chelsea forward, as this form can’t be justified.

Of course, Broja could prove Everton wrong, but going off his track record, Barry looks to be a much better deal, and paying £20m for their former loanee would not have gone down well.
