Newcastle United have made their move for Benjamin Sesko and have submitted a club-record offer for the RB Leipzig forward.
Sesko has been of long-standing interest to Newcastle United, who were looking to add a new striker to Eddie Howe‘s squad even before the Alexander Isak saga unfolded.
Isak wants to leave Newcastle this summer, though suitors Liverpool have suggested they are now prepared to walk away from talks after having an offer rejected for the Sweden international.
It remains to be seen if Newcastle would be signing Sesko as Isak’s replacement or to play alongside him.
Either way, Newcastle have made their move and are prepared to make Sesko their most expensive signing in history.

Newcastle United make official bid for Benjamin Sesko
Noted transfer expert Graeme Bailey has told Geordie Boot Boys that Newcastle have confirmed they have made an offer for Sesko.
The make-up of the potential deal involves £65.5million up front, with a further £4.4million to come by way of various add-ons.
That would make the Slovenia international Newcastle’s record signing. Isak currently holds that title, having arrived for £63million from Real Sociedad in 2022.

Newcastle are confident that will be enough to seal a deal, although Manchester United have also been strongly linked with the forward.
What Eddie Howe has said about Benjamin Sesko deal
Speaking while away in Seoul on a pre-season tour of the Far East, Howe responded to the Sesko links.
Naturally, the Newcastle United manager proved evasive.
“I am sorry to sound like a broken record, I am aware of what is happening but I am not dealing with it. I woke up today and had two training sessions then came straight here,” he said.
