Everton are showing an interest in Midtjylland striker Franculino and recently had him scouted in the Europa League.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who report that after Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen showed an interest, Everton are now set to ‘get involved’ in the matter.
They report that Everton have contacted the Midtjylland striker’s representatives after sending scouts to Edinburgh to watch the 21-year-old take on Hibernian in the Europa League second round clash on July 31st.
Franculino started that game, which Midtjylland won 2-1 thanks to a 119th minute strike to take them through 3-2 on aggregate. He was not on the scoresheet but was a ‘significant factor’ in the win according to Africa Foot.
His profile is believed to have seduced Everton’s scouts, and the Toffees have now begun discussions with his representatives about a potential move this summer.
His current deal with Midtjylland runs until 2029 and his current value is estimated to be around €13m by the likes of Transfermarkt.
The striker joined the Danish side on a free transfer from Benfica U23’s in 2023 and has since scored 38 goals and registered 11 assists in 77 games for them. He previously managed 13 goals and two assists in 16 games for Benfica’s youth side and now appears to be in Everton’s sights.
