Benjamin Sesko has an opportunity to move to the Premier League following interest from Manchester United and Newcastle.
The competitive season is getting closer. Ruben Amorim’s squad is beginning to take shape ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal.
Manchester United welcomed two new signings with Premier League experience, while six players have departed since the end of the 2024/25 season.
One departure saw Marcus Rashford join Barcelona on loan until the end of the season, although the La Liga giants have the option to make the deal permanent.
Amorim wants to add a striker to his squad before the new season begins, especially after missing out on Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres earlier this summer.
United have since turned their attention towards RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, with the Slovenian international taking priority after scoring 21 goals last season.

United were confident in their pursuit to sign the Slovenia international before Newcastle submitted a formal offer to secure Sesko’s signature.
The latest update from the Sesko saga comes after he was left out of the Leipzig squad to face Atalanta in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

It is understood that Sesko has three options: stay at Leipzig, or sign for United or Newcastle.
The 22-year-old has yet to make his final decision.
Sesko scored 13 goals and provided five assists in the Bundesliga last season.
RB Leipzig could lose two key players this summer
Sesko may be on the verge of leaving RB Leipzig, but the German club could also lose Xavi Simons.
Simons was previously linked with a move to United, but he could complete his switch to Chelsea this summer.
Chelsea are also linked with a move for United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
