Alexander Isak has made a major decision regarding his future after Liverpool saw their £110million bid rejected.
Isak, 25, has been tracked by the free-spending Reds this summer, but they saw their formal bid rejected on Friday afternoon. Reports now suggest Liverpool will not make a second bid, but they remain interested in the player.
The Swede has been absent from Newcastle's pre-season tour of Asia, and he has instead been training by himself at his former club Real Sociedad. However, he will not jet back to the UK to continue training, according to The Athletic.
The rest of Isak's team-mates are still in the Far East.
Speaking on Saturday, ahead of Newcastle’s pre-season friendly with Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul, South Korea, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said the club continued to support Isak.

He said: "I really don’t know what is going to happen next, but from our perspective, we still support Alex in every way, and my wish is still that we see him in a Newcastle shirt again."
Isak has three years left on his contract putting Newcastle in a strong position to get a big fee. And BBC Sport report Liverpool could decide to put the move on the backburner.
The BBC said Anfield bosses "do not think a deal for Isak is achievable this summer as it stands". But add: "It is unclear whether this is a negotiating tactic and if Liverpool will maintain that stance."

The Magpies, who value the Sweden international at about £150m, turned down a bid of £110m from the Premier League champions.
Reports on Thursday suggested that Newcastle were reportedly frustrated at being left in limbo over Isak as Liverpool mulled over a bid for the striker.

Newcastle bosses suspected that the Reds were waiting to raise funds from the sale of forwards before making a bid. Luis Diaz joined Bayern Munich this week for £65m, while Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott could all be offloaded.
