Manchester United have made a move for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, and the Catalans could be tempted into selling.
That’s [according to Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/oferton-manchester-united-fermin-120295928), who report that Manchester United are interested in the midfielder and willing to offer up to €70m for him.
The belief is that the transfer is not imminent as yet but could develop over the coming weeks. Barcelona and the player are aware of the interest from Manchester United.
That interest, and apparent willingness to spend, has caused debate at Barcelona as they could do with the money that it would bring in.
They’re resistant to losing Lopez, who is a part of Hansi Flick’s plans, but the doors would be opened if an official offer arrives with very high valuations attached to it.
Lopez is seen as a player who would fit into Manchester United’s system under Ruben Amorim and they spoke to Barcelona about him in the negotiations over Marcus Rashford.
They want to convince the player with an astronomical offer and practically double the salary he currently earns at the Camp Nou. They know it will be difficult to convince the midfielder to leave Barcelona and he’s already said no to several Premier League offers.
Barcelona, though would be open to a sale if they can get around €70m from him. Such a sale would help to solve all of their current economic issues in one stroke, allowing them to sign off on renewals, new signings and even add further to their squad.
