Former Premier League footballer Gabby Agbonlahor has offered Ben Chilwell some advice as the left back searches for a new club this summer.
Chilwell is one of a number of players Chelsea are looking to offload this summer, and it was made very clear the 28-year-old wouldn’t be part of Enzo Maresca’s plans when he took over a year ago.
The Englishman spent the second half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace, and was part of the squad which won the FA Cup.
Agbonlahor offers Chilwell transfer advice
Palace won’t be signing Chilwell on a permanent basis, after his 11 appearances in all competitions, in which he scored once.
Chelsea would ideally like to sell the former Leicester star, but they face a tough task in finding Chilwell a new home, largely in part to his wages.
Chiwell is reportedly on around £200,000 per week and has two years remaining on the deal he signed back in 2023.

It’s unclear what transfer fee Chelsea would be looking for, but getting the wages off their books is far more important.
It’s been reported Chelsea are struggling to offload Chilwell, and currently they’ve have received no offers, but Agbonlahor has offered some advice.
“I just think he needs to find a club where he’s going to be number one. Crystal Palace was never going to work. [Tyrick] Mitchell is a top left-back,” he told talkSPORT.
“He needs to maybe go down to a lower club in the Premier League. If that’s a Leeds, if it’s a Sunderland, if it’s a Burnley, just play week in, week out.
“We’ve seen Kyle Walker and all he’s won in the game, and he’s gone to Burnley.

Chelsea need to offload Sterling
Chilwell isn’t the only high earner the Blues are looking to move one, with Raheem Sterling also falling into that category.
Chelsea are said to be looking for around £20m for Sterling, and unlike Chilwell he’s attracting interest from clubs.
Sterling has been offered to Napoli, whilst Fulham are also interested in signing the 30-year-old, although any move will almost certainly require him to take a pay cut.
