Leeds United could be given a free run at Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss as RB Leipzig don’t plan to move for him this summer.
That’s [according to journalist Philipp Hinze](https://x.com/philipphinze24/status/1951646199754182756), who reports that El Khannouss is not a hot topic at Leipzig even if Xavi Simons departs this summer.
The Dutchman has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer and sparked more rumours on Friday when he removed Leipzig from his social media profiles. He has also missed Leipzig’s friendly with Atalanta on Saturday with a mysterious neck injury.
If he were to depart, they would likely enter the market for a replacement, but Hinze reports that it won’t be the Leicester man.
He states that, despite reports, Leipzig are not currently concretely chasing the 21-year-old. He insists that it is a ‘cold trail’ to him, as it was last year.
That though could be good news for Leeds United. A report earlier this week stated that they had opened talks with the Leicester man’s agents about a move to Elland Road this summer.
In fact, that also reported that Leeds would be willing to pay his release clause to make the deal happen and bolster Daniel Farke’s squad. Now it appears they will have a free shot with Leipzig, who would have been tough competition, not currently in the race.
