25 y/o superstar "only wants Liverpool", has spoken to Slot and already agreed personal terms

French journalist Julian Laurens says Alexander Isak only wants to join Liverpool, has already spoken to Arne Slot with personal terms already agreed.

The Swede – with 23 goals – finished second in the Premier League’s top scorers’ list last season. Only Mohamed Salah had more with 29 strikes but to pair them together is to almost guarantee another league title is heading back to Anfield.

The Premier League champions have acted with an authority and swagger in the transfer market this summer that has been absent since at least the 80s.

Signing Florian Wirtz (£116m), Hugo Ekitike (£69m), Milos Kerkez (£40m), Jeremie Frimpong (£29.5m) and Giorgi Mamardashvili (£29m) and then moving for Isak just highlights the ambition at Liverpool these days.

To further anger rival fans, Liverpool won’t even be finished if/when they sign Isak as there are still plans to sign a new centre-back to replace Jarell Quansah.

Alexander Isak “only wants Liverpool”, has spoken to Arne Slot and already agreed personal terms

Speaking on ESPN’s YouTube channel, French football expert Julien Laurens has discussed Isak’s return to Real Sociedad’s training centre and talks between the striker and Arne Slot.

“You would expect Liverpool to up their offer, probably to around 140 million Euros and you would expect, really, Newcastle to accept it and Isak to arrive at the club,” the reporter says.

Laurens continued: “Isak right now only wants Liverpool, he doesn’t want to go anywhere else. He’s training on his own in San Sebastian, at Real Sociedad’s training ground, just waiting literally for the move to happen to Liverpool.

“He’s already spoken to Arne Slot, I think personal terms have already been agreed or certainly not far from it.”

Liverpool have had a massive bid rejected – somewhere between £110m and £120m – but it does not seem as though this saga will end there with the Newcastle United board submitting a big bid for Benjamin Sesko.

Once that transfer goes through, it will open the door for Liverpool to sign Isak without leaving Newcastle without a top striker.

“So, now it’s just a case of Liverpool finding an agreement with Newcastle and also Newcastle finding a replacement,” Laurens adds.

“Whether that’s Sesko, Watkins, Wissa, they’ve got a few names on their shortlist, but they also need to find a replacement before this whole deal with Liverpool for Isak happens.”
