Lucas Perri missed Leeds United’s pre-season match against Villarreal at Elland Road in the club’s penultimate friendly of 2025/26.
Lucas Perri penned a four-year contract with Leeds United, although the 49ers’ total spending has now jumped up again and with more deals yet to come.
It’s fair to say that Perri’s long throws could transform Leeds and the way Daniel Farke utilises his goalkeeper, having arrived from French giants Olympique Lyonnais.
But Leeds fans will have to wait to see him in action, with Perri nowhere to be seen against the La Liga outfit as their pre-season preparations continued with a 1-1 draw.

In terms of a transfer fee, Perri was said to cost Leeds around £13 million. Other reports then claimed that it could cost Leeds £15.6 million for Perri in total.
Graham Smyth claimed this week that Leeds wanted to sign Brazilian trio Igor Paixao, Rodrigo Muniz and Perri. One of them has gone elsewhere despite the fact Perri tried his best to convince Paixao to join Leeds.
But the goalkeeper has also not yet been seen, which is because of a minor injury he had when he arrived in West Yorkshire, as detailed by Graham Smyth of The Yorkshire Evening Post.

The latest information Leeds United News have received is that the ‘niggle’ is minor enough that he should be back in action against AC Milan for the next friendly.
Failing that, there are no concerns about a return in time for Everton during the first competitive game of their campaign in the Premier League season.

Who else has injury issues for Leeds?
Post-match, we should find out more about the state of the squad via Farke. However, there have been some notable absentees on the day.
Sebastiaan Bornauw’s issue has been present for a couple of weeks, while Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford were expected to be missing alongside Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt et al.
However, Jayden Bogle, Dan James, and Jack Harrison’s reasoning is not yet clear. It’s possible they simply have knocks of their own, while also being a concern if they are any more serious than that with Everton in just over two weeks’ time.
