Manchester United are reportedly planning to offer Fermin Lopez an 'astronomical' contract to leave Barcelona during this summer's transfer window.
The Red Devils are working to bring a new striker to the club, but the arrival of a new midfielder is also believed to be high on their priority list, with Christian Eriksen leaving on a free transfer at the end of June.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 20-time English champions are 'seriously considering' signing a new midfielder, with the club open to any 'good opportunity' that arises.
Barcelona's Fermin has long been linked with a move to Man United, with the Red Devils believed to have expressed an interest in his signature during the January transfer window.
According to Sport, Man United are willing to offer the Spain international a significant contract which would see his current wages at Camp Nou doubled.

The report claims that Man United are willing to pay in excess of €70m (£61m) for Fermin, and it is possible that a deal could go through before the end of this summer's transfer window.
Barcelona are said to be keen to keep hold of Fermin, but the Catalan outfit would find it difficult to reject an offer of that size for a player who is not certain of a spot in Hansi Flick's XI.
There is also said to be interest from Chelsea and Saudi Arabia, but Man United are leading the race.
The Red Devils allegedly know that they have a tough task on their hands to convince the 22-year-old to leave a Champions League club behind for a side without European football next term.
However, Fermin could be offered a substantial salary and a starting role by Ruben Amorim's side.

Would Fermin be a good signing for Man United?
Fermin played an important role for Barcelona during the 2024-25 campaign, making 46 appearances in all competitions, scoring eight goals and registering 10 assists in the process.
The Spaniard managed six goals and five assists in 28 La Liga matches, while he scored once and provided four assists in 11 Champions League fixtures, as the Catalan side made the semi-finals.
Fermin has the perfect skillset for the Premier League considering his high-energy style and ability to both score and provide assists from a deeper position.
As a result, he could be one of the signings of the summer if Man United are able to get a deal over the line, with Fermin managing 19 goals and 11 assists in his 88 first-team appearances for Barcelona.
