Newcastle submit first official bid for Sesko – Manchester United signal intent to do same

Newcastle United have sent a formal, written offer to RB Leipzig for Benjamin Sesko worth €75m plus €5m in bonuses.

That’s according to journalists [Philipp Hinze](https://x.com/philipphinze24/status/1951686122616377548) and [Florian Plettenberg](https://x.com/Plettigoal/status/1951686066601418951), who both cover the situation today.

Hinze reports that the Leipzig have received the written offer from Newcastle for Sesko, valued at €75m plus €5m. It has neither been accepted nor rejected.

Manchester United remain fully in the race for the Slovenian and have made it clear that they are ready to enter the bidding as well. He suggests a bidding war between them and Newcastle could be set to start. Further talks are planned this evening.

Plettenberg, meanwhile, reports that Newcastle have submitted their official offer worth €75m plus €5m on bonuses. He repeats that the race is open between Manchester United and the Magpies as the former have indicated that they are ready to make their move.

A report on Friday evening had stated that Sesko has decided to choose Newcastle over Manchester United this summer. Now Eddie Howe’s side have made the first move for him by submitting a first official bid to Leipzig.
