Leeds United could not beat Villarreal in their penultimate friendly before the new season.

Daniel Farke’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by the Spanish side with Joel Piroe rescuing the contest for the Whites.

The Elland Road outfit had fallen behind to a Karl Etta Eyong goal, but the Dutchman was on hand with his fourth goal in three matches.

Here, MOT Leeds News looks at the three things that we learned from the clash.

Ramazani doesn’t look cut out for Premier League

Largie Ramazani struggled to perform for Leeds last season in the Championship, and the latest evidence suggests that he will not get any better in the top flight.

The Belgian winger was restricted to just seven starts in the second tier, although he did feature in 29 matches for Farke’s side.

He was poor against the La Liga outfit, and failed to impose himself on the defence, which does not bode well for his hopes of a starting berth this season.

Ramazani notched six goals and two assists last season.

Aaronson takes Leeds transfer links personally

Brenden Aaronson is facing an uncertain future at Leeds, and they are looking for alternatives in the market for the number 10 position.

The American struggled in the top tier last time, notching just one goal and three assists, and the Whites are reportedly willing to meet Leicester star Bilal El Khannous’ release clause to bring in competition.

It seems like the 24-year-old took those links personally as he was one of the Peacocks’ best players against the Yellow Submarine.

He was constantly trying to make something happen, and it was his cross that led to a mix-up in the box for Piroe’s equaliser.

Stach to star in top flight for Leeds

Farke added powerhouse German midfielder Anton Stach to his side in the market, and he looks set to star for the Whites.

The 49ers parted with £17.4million to sign the maestro from Hoffenheim.

Bundesliga expert Marie Schulte-Bockum told MOT Leeds News that he is “perfect” for the top flight and that appears to be the case.

He was brilliant, winning the ball back regularly and nearly even added a goal to his display with a free kick effort.

There were concerns over how he would adapt to English football, but it appears that he will be just fine.
