Neither Stefanos Tzimas nor Charalampos Kostoulas featured in two games with Southampton today.
A 1-0 win over 60 minutes behind closed doors this morning was followed by a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s in a match open to fans.
Olivier Boscagli, the former PSV defender who arrived this summer, was also absent from both games.
Facundo Buonanotte returned after a minor ankle injury and was involved in the only goal of the first match, finished by Jeremy Sarmiento.
Yankuba Minteh scored twice in the second game.
Asked about the progress of Kostoulas and Tzimas, head coach Fabian Hurzeler told The Argus: “In training – still in the adaptation phase.
“We don’t want to take any risks today with Ollie, with the Greek guys - Babis and Stefanos.
“They are still in an adapting phase but they are already in team training, which is a positive thing.
“Now we will see how we handle them next week.”

Asked if they were adapting physically or tactically, Hurzeler replied: “Physically. We don’t want to risk an injury in that early phase of the season
“We are very patient with them.
“We give them time that they can adapt to our training intensity.”
Goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, whose return has been managed after he was troubled by a knee issue last season, will feature in the home game with Wolfsburg next Saturday.
Hurzeler added: “Bart is back already in team training and I am sure we will see him against Wolfsburg.”
