West Ham have been linked with a move to sign Botafogo’s John Victor this summer.
It has been a worryingly slow transfer window for West Ham so far, who have only seen four new faces check in at the London Stadium despite the failures from the previous campaign.
Callum Wilson is the latest, joining on a free transfer following his exit from Newcastle United, though it may not be long until number five arrives.
Victor has been linked with a move to West Ham this summer, amid concerns over the goalkeeping situation, and a resolution to that could be found in the coming days.

Alphonse Areola is currently the number one at West Ham, and concerns over his future have been present since the end of the previous campaign.

Negotiations are said to be at an advanced stage, with Manchester United also having been mooted as a potential landing spot this summer.
Victor has made his intentions of playing in the Premier League clear this summer, and it looks as though he may get his wish.

Are West Ham prepared for the new season?
As of right now, it’s hard to say that they are.
Despite the glaringly obvious requirement for a goalscoring forward, no investment has been made on that front, and Mohammed Kudus has not been replaced.
All in all, there is a case to be made that the current West Ham squad is weaker than the one from last season, which, when considering where they finished, is not a good look.
