Contract status of every Nottingham Forest player after surprise development

Nottingham Forest pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the summer when they announced a new contract for Morgan Gibbs-White last weekend.

The Reds ace had been on the verge of a move to Tottenham Hotspur not so long ago. Now he is tied to the City Ground until 2028.

Gibbs-White putting pen to paper on fresh terms was a huge coup for Forest and a real statement of intent. He is such an important player for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and will be integral this coming season when European football comes to the banks of the Trent.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis said of Gibbs-White’s new deal: "Morgan is a special player – not just in terms of talent, but character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless, and proud.

“There was significant interest from various clubs, but we were determined to build our future with Morgan at the heart of it. I promised our fans we would not only compete, but grow stronger and stronger every season. Today is another big step in that journey."

The England international isn’t the only key figure to have signed a new deal recently. The Reds have made getting their prized assets tied down as much of a focus as overseeing new additions.

Earlier in the year, centre-back Murillo and front man Chris Wood penned new contracts. Full-backs Ola Aina and Neco Williams, along with head coach Nuno followed suit this summer, as did youngster Zach Abbott. The club will hope Callum Hudson-Odoi is next to commit his future, given the winger has only 12 months remaining on his current deal.
