McConnell made his senior debut in October 2023 and has totalled 13 appearances for the Liverpool first team.
He played four times for the Reds last season, and is reportedly set to be fully fit soon following injury.
United and Sky Bet Championship rivals Derby County, Ipswich Town, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion have all enquired about the midfielder’s availability according to the Liverpool Echo, while French side FC Metz are reportedly tracking the player.
As for Koumas, the Wales international attacker scored on his solitary first team appearance for the Reds, netting the opener from the start in a 3-0 Emirates FA Cup victory against Southampton in February 2024.
Last season, he scored six goals in all competitions while on loan at Stoke City, and is reportedly gaining interest for either a loan or a permanent move.
The U’s are said to have expressed an interest in Koumas, alongside fellow Championship teams Birmingham City, Hull City, Norwich City, Preston North End, Sheffield United and Wrexham, while La Liga side Sevilla have also reportedly enquired about a switch to Spain.
