Goodbye Alejandro: Garnacho gives'total priority'to Premier League club

Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly given his 'total priority' to Chelsea, with the Argentina international determined to secure a switch to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 21-year-old is free to leave Man United during the current window due to his breakdown in his relationship with Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim.

Napoli are believed to have had at least two offers turned down for the forward in January, while Atletico Madrid are also believed to be considering bringing their former academy player back to the club.

However, it is understood that Garnacho is desperate to remain in the Premier League, with Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs to be credited with an interest.

Chelsea were also linked with the Argentina international in January, and the Blues have a firm interest in the forward.

Garnacho 'determined' to secure Chelsea transfer

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho has now taken his 'total priority' to Chelsea, with the attacker pushing for a move to the capital outfit during this summer's transfer window.

The report claims that talks have taken place between Chelsea and Garnacho's representatives, although the two clubs are yet to engage in any direct negotiations.

A move is not believed to be imminent, as Chelsea are currently looking to move players on, while they are also working to complete a permanent move for RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons.

Besiktas have also recently been linked with Garnacho, but Romano has branded those reports 'completely wide of the mark', with the player determined to remain in the Premier League.

How much will Garnacho cost this summer?

The fact that clubs are aware of Garnacho's non-existent relationship with Amorim and Man United's desire to sell means that the Red Devils are not in a strong position when it comes to the ex-Atletico youngster.

Garnacho's numbers are impressive, scoring 26 goals and registering 22 assists in 144 appearances for Man United, including 11 goals and 10 assists in all competitions last season.

Man United had allegedly originally been looking for £70m for Garnacho, but Chelsea are believed to value him closer to £30m, so it is not impossible to imagine the two clubs meeting somewhere in the region of £40m.

Chelsea have allegedly recently completed background checks on Garnacho and have no concerns over the attacker's behaviour despite some unsavoury incidents during his time at Old Trafford.
