Nottingham Forest could soon be dealing with interest from Brazil, as goalkeeper Carlos Miguel has emerged as a target for Botafogo.
According to journalist João Van Boysen, the Brazilian club considers the 25-year-old one of their priorities should they sell current first-choice John Victor, who has a proposal from West Ham United, [as we reported earlier](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-preparing-improved-offer-hammers-hope-to-close-deal-at-e10-12m/). With John keen on a Premier League move, Botafogo are already preparing alternatives.
Carlos Miguel has been open to a transfer for some time and, [as previously reported](https://sportwitness.co.uk/nuno-makes-decision-nottingham-forest-player-told-to-find-new-club-despite-aspirations/), has been placed on Forest’s list of negotiable players. Out of manager Nuno Espírito Santo’s plans for the season, he has yet to attract formal offers from Europe and is now on the radar back home.
For now, any Botafogo approach depends on the sale of John going through, meaning a domino effect would be needed before Forest receive anything concrete from Brazil.
