NN - "It's late night on Saturday..." - Fabrizio Romano shares after-hours Man Utd, Newcastle,…

Newcastle United's bid for Benjamin Sesko was rejected on Saturday, giving the Magpies no clear indication that he will become a St. James' Park player heading into the final month of the transfer window - and that could open the door for Manchester United, according to Fabrizio Romano, with the journalist stating that the striker has yet to decide on where he will play next season.

Sesko's continued development in the Bundesliga has made him a key target for various clubs needing a young striker, and having missed out on Hugo Ekitike and Liam Delap among others, the Magpies are now keen to bring the Slovenian starlet to the club to bolster their striking ranks. United, meanwhile, saw poor campaigns for Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in front of goal, and are in the market for another attacker to bolster their ranks.

That has led to a transfer saga, and Romano believes that although Newcastle have made an official offer to go ahead of United in the race, he insists that Sesko's mind is not made up and whoever he chooses will get the nod in the transfer race. Romano said on his YouTube channel:

"As I told you earlier today, Newcastle sent a bid. There is a negotiation ongoing with RB Leipzig. Newcastle are ready to pay what it takes to RB Leipzig.

"I know there is a lot of talk about the bids; accepted, rejected, been done, been sent - I'll repeat what I told you earlier. This depends on Sesko. When Sesko says 'I want to go to this club', this story will take a clear direction, but the bids at the moment are not going to make the difference, because Newcastle are going to pay what it needed is Sesko decides to join them.

"On Manchester United - they are ready to bid and start the negotiation if Sesko decides to join them. So this depends on Benjamin Sesko.

"It's late night on Saturday, and Sesko, at the moment, has still not decided."
